Public holiday dates

These should be set up by A.M.S. when the software is installed. All Public Holidays should be entered here in the column HOLIDAYS 1.

The column HOLIDAYS 2 should only be used if the number of hours a person works varies on different days.

So for eg. Let’s say an employee works 8 hours each day except on Fridays, when s/he works 6 hours. If a Public Holiday falls on a Friday, s/he should be paid differently than if the Public Holiday falls on another day of the week. Thus Public Holidays should be entered into the column HOLIDAYS 1 except if they fall on a Friday. If so, the Friday Public Holidays should be entered in the column HOLIDAYS 2.

It does not matter what order the public holidays are entered in.

To use automatic crediting of hours on public holidays:

You must also check the set up in each Employee record, from the field Normal daily hours 1: onwards.

Thus if we use the previous eg. you would type in 08.00 hours to be automatically credited whenever there is a date contained in Public Holidays 1. In the field Normal daily hours 2: you would type 06.00 which refers to Public Holidays 2 dates.

The automatically credited hours will be displayed in the P.Hol column of reports.
